A Police Authority Member The Police Authority's independent Standards Committee has responsibility for considering complaints that a member may have breached Greater Manchester Police Authority's Code of Conduct. If you want to complain about the conduct of a member of Greater Manchester Police Authority you must submit your complaint to: Chair of the Standards Committee, Greater Manchester Police Authority, Chorley Road, Swinton, Salford, M27 5DA The Standards Committee can only deal with complaints about the behaviour of a member. It will not deal with complaints about things not covered by the members' Code of Conduct. If you make a complaint to the Standards Committee it must be about why you think a member has not followed the code. If you would like advice on this matter please contact Russell Bernstein, Monitoring Officer, on 0161 793 3700, who will be able to provide some advice, and if necessary, a form on which to submit your complaint. The Police Authority If you wish to make a complaint about the actions of the police authority, you can do so by contacting the Local Government Ombudsman on 0845 602 1983 or by visiting their website. If your complaint is related to the actions of the staff of the authority, your complaint must in the first instance be referred to the Executive Director Russell Bernstein at the following address:- Chorley Road, Swinton, Salford, M27 5DA or by email

A Chief Officer The Police Authority is responsible for investigating complaints against Chief Officers (ie Chief Constable, Deputy Chief Constable and Assistant Chief Constables). All complaints must be made in writing to the Executive Director at the following address:- Greater Manchester Police Authority, Chorley Road, Swinton, Salford, M27 5DA
