Bury

Bury the area.

Bury Metropolitan Borough consists of six towns - Bury, Ramsbottom, Tottington, Radcliffe, Whitefield and Prestwich.

Geographically, Bury is a blend of town and country ranging from Pennine moorland in the north to the suburbs of north Manchester in the south.

There is a wide range of industry ranging through papermaking, luggage and carpet making, to manufacture of heavy and light engineering, to chemicals, plastics and rubber manufacture.

There are excellent communications in the area with the M62, M66 and M60 motorways and the Metrolink system which provides a fast and frequent service to Manchester city centre.

Bury has a renowned range of shopping and entertainment facilities including the Mill Gate shopping Centre, open and indoor markets, bars, restaurants and a multiplex cinema.

There is currently significant investment across the Townships and in particular in Bury town centre where the Rock Triangle development will mean Bury moving from 160th to 61st position in the National Retail Centre Rankings. Bury is a safe place to live, with reducing crime levels, particularly in the context of its position as part of one of the largest conurbations in the UK.
