Consultation
An important area of work for Greater Manchester Police Authority is consultation. It is vital the views of local communities are considered when decisions about policing are made and a number of different techniques are used to provide people with an opportunity to talk about policing. These include regular meetings set up specifically to give community groups an opportunity to have their say, large-scale consultation conferences and surveys. There is however much more to do and lots of work is currently taking place to improve the consultation work delivered by the Authority to ensure local communities know how to make their voices heard. The development of a website dedicated to consultation is just one example of a project which is underway as part of this work
