Vacancies

Greater Manchester Police Authority is responsible for the recruitment of a number of different groups of people. These are:

Senior Police Officers GMPA is responsible for recruiting the Chief Constable. The authority also works in partnership with Greater Manchester Police to recruit the Deputy Chief Constable, Assistant Chief Constables and Assistant Chief Officers. The application process for the new Chief Constable is now underway

Volunteers - Recruitment regularly takes place for members of the public who give up their spare time to support GMPA in advisory and support roles or as part of networks which help monitor the police custody process.

Police Authority members The authority is made up of a number of independent members who serve four year terms. Advertising campaigns are run in local newspapers when vacancies for independent members exist and new recruits are needed.

GMPA Staff A team of staff provides support to police authority members. There are currently no vacancies.
