Welcome to the Greater Manchester Police Authority

The function of Greater Manchester Police Authority is to ensure that the Greater Manchester Police are efficient, effective and accountable to local people. While the responsibility for delivering policing services lies with the chief constable, responsibility for monitoring - on behalf of local people - how well those services are being delivered, belongs to the police authority.

Event aims to improve quality of life for over 50s

‘A Life of Quality’ is the name of a one-day advice and information event aimed at people over 50 and being staged in The Spindles, Oldham on Saturday, 30th July.  One in three people in Oldham are in this age group, which amounts to around 70,000 residents of the borough.

The event brings together over 30 statutory and voluntary bodies that provide services to the community, many specifically to older people. It has been jointly organised by the Greater Manchester Police Authority and Oldham MBC.
