GMPA is responsible for recruiting and appointing the Chief Constable and senior chief police officers of Greater Manchester Police.
More than 30 full-time staff provide support to GMPA members.
A GMPA advertising campaign in 2007 to recruit a senior officer scooped an award.
GMPA recruits authority members, volunteers, senior police officers and its own staff.
Staff at GMPA are employed by Salford City Council.

Volunteering Opportunities

Recruitment of Appropriate Adults and Independent Custody Visitors takes three times a year. (GMPA also runs an Animal Welfare Visiting Scheme however there are currently no vacancies).
